Alpine A310, Flagship Electric Sports Car for the Brand, Scheduled for 2028 Launch
The highly anticipated Alpine A310 has made its mark in the automotive world with sneak peeks of its testing photos. The flagship electric sports car for the Alpine brand is set to hit the markets by 2028 and will be competing aggressively with brands such as Porsche, Maserati, and Lotus.
The design of the test vehicle took cues from the Ligier JS2 R racing car. It features an imposing front grille resembling a "big mouth," with air intakes positioned above and on either side. The innovative approach to opening the doors is expected to be through the butterfly door mechanism. Furthermore, the rear section boasts an aggressive design reminiscent of a swan's neck. Notable are the pronounced winglets that stretch down towards the rear section, complete with enlarged heat sinks resembling shark fins at the top.
"The core selling point of the A310 lies in its lightweight construction," explained Alpine market manager for this release. "It is based on the brand new Alpine Performance Platform (APP) development structure." The innovative platform designed specifically for electric sports cars is set to debut starting 2026 and will initially feature on next generation A110.
Moreover, the powertrain of the vehicle consists of a three-electric motor system. Contrary to conventional cars that would often simulate the sound of revving engines or gear shifting, future models from Alpine are likely to include the distinct sound signature pioneered by their A290 series.
