Huawei-Geely joint venture's latest sports car, Enjoy i9 to hit the market in summer

Beijing, February 19 (China Daily) - The latest addition to China's automotive segment, Enjoy i9, is listed on the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's national catalog, signaling its imminent arrival on Asian streets by mid-summer.

The entry-level variant of the sports car will be pitted against established luxury brands such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and others that have historically dominated the market with their premium offerings. As with any new release, anticipation is building up among car enthusiasts looking forward to seeing how this newcomer will fare in a crowded landscape where price equality plays a significant role.

The joint venture between Huawei and Geely showcases an interplay of styles reminiscent of its predecessor, while retaining an overall aesthetic closely aligned by design inspirations derived from Universe. Observers take note that Enjoy i9 boasts sleek simplicity with notable elements including horizontally symmetrical headlights paired with a cohesive LED strip stretching down the side panel; likewise for the rearview section marked off with vertical grills and distinctive LED bars complemented by small tail fin appendages atop a larger badge situated below.

Enjoy i9 measures 5160mm in length, 2005mm in width, and 1486mm tall; boasting a wheelbase of 3050mm, it can be classified as a mid to large luxury vehicle. Its power comes via an in-line twin engine setup running off at the peak output of 118 units while the electric motor stands at 227kW during peak. Regarding fuel efficiency according to WLTC (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure), the available configuration equipped with tires measuring 245/45 R20 would consume 0.51L on every 100 kilometers, whereas wheels measuring in size of 255/40 will have a consumption level standing at 0.56L on such same mileage threshold.
