New Flying Car Brand Launched by GAC: Govy AirJet Takes to the Skies
On December 18, a new flying car brand was introduced by Guangqi Automobile Group (GAC) - Govy, marking the company's second foray into electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The first product from the new brand, Govy AirJet, made its debut, targeting commercial operations starting in 2025.
The Govy AirJet is based on the ROBO-AIRTAXI model, which will feature a stand-alone transportation system for three-dimensional transportation.
Govy AirJet boast features that make it stand out from other flying car products. First of all, it's equipped with a layout that supports one passenger and an additional space for luggage at the back. Additionally, Govy AirJet is set to come with bright white interior color. To ensure a comfortable ride, the Govy Air Jet will feature gradient atmosphere lighting, as well as in-vehicle controls.
When it comes to power systems, the flying car uses multiple redundant setups designed for power system, control system and electric motor of the aircraft. In detail, Govy AirJet will have 8-axis and 8-propeller distributed propulsion arrangements with three-degree angular velocity control scheme. Its propulsion could achieve over 200km cruising distance and 30 minutes fast recharging capacity, all thanks to advanced smart regenerative systems. These cutting edge advancements are part of a comprehensive electric battery pack designed by GAC self-developed technology: full-solid-state batteries. With this, Govy is confident in taking its new flying car from 200km to over 400 km.
Thanks to such innovation, the flying car has broader market prospects in achieving more efficient operation with reduced carbon emissions.
