Renault Group Announces Strong Q3 and Half-Year Results
Renault Group has announced its financial results for the third quarter of 2024, which saw the company report a revenue increase of 0.8% compared to the same period last year.
The group's total revenue reached €37.7 billion in the first nine months of the year, with Renault branding accounting for the largest share. In Europe, Renault ranked third among passenger car manufacturers and first in the light commercial vehicle market above Pick-up vehicles.
Clio remained Renault's top seller in Europe across all sales channels, while Sandero topped European sales at a dealership level. The Alpine brand has experienced significant growth, with two-digit increases seen across multiple markets.
Renault Group confirmed its financial expectations for 2024, with an operating profit margin of ≥7.5% and free funds exceeding €25 billion.
Throughout the first nine months, Renault Group's auto sales remained stable compared to the same period in 2023, amounting to 1,637,225 vehicles worldwide. In the European market, 117,576 customers purchased cars (+3.1%) over a comparable increase of 1.8% on the overall market.
Renault branding increased sales by 3.5%, while Dacia saw growth of 2.2%. Alpine recorded a significant 17.5% rise in Europe and globally.
In the same period, Renault Group's global sales reached 1126560 vehicles, demonstrating an increase both within the brand and on an overall level.
Across Europe, Renault's ranking has improved to 3rd for passenger car sales at a total of 740314 units with considerable growth on all target markets in France (+1.1%), Spain (+10.6%), UK (+24.3%), Italy (+16.2%) resulting from the impressive increase of Renault Clio.
Clio increased sales in Europe by 5.8%, now ranking 2nd across the channels and thus a further position than last year for this model. In addition, the market share for Renault was up 6.6% on overall growth to third place on LCV Markets (excluding Pickup).
Renault also saw significant success with its Dacia brand in Europe as it rose above 9th at present compared with +1.5% and a very successful launch of all-new model Sandero.
By contrast, the Alpine A290 has experienced a tremendous growth in sales by 16.5%, driven predominantly by high-tier variants across all the key European markets including France (21.5%), Germany (19.5%), Britain (+17.6%) and Italy.
Renault Group announced its presence at the top of sales figures in Europe as they outpaced that of leading competitors with four of their models taking 1-10 places. These are all variants featuring dealership offerings for which the company remains ahead by over half on market share.
