DS 8 Official Teaser Launched, New Flagship Model Unveiled
The official teaser for the DS 8 has been released, marking the arrival of a new flagship model from the French brand. The vehicle will be built on the STLA Medium architecture and will run solely on electric power, with the WLTP test cycle indicating a range of up to 750 kilometers.
Design Inspiration and Key Features
The design inspiration for the DS 8 is drawn from concept designs such as the DS Aero Sport Lounge and DS SM TRIBUTE. The exterior boasts an aggressive sloping roofline, reminiscent of a sports car, while the front face reveals a strikingly angular headlight system. Additionally, the side profile showcases a sleeker silhouette with hidden door handles and concealed charging ports.
On-board Experience
The vehicle is expected to feature a unique cabin design with attention to detail.
Production Plans
The DS 8 will be manufactured at the Stellantis factory in Italy. Furthermore, plans for new models such as the Vauxhall Insignia and Lancia Gamma crossover are also underway.
Sales Performance
For the first six months of the year, DS sales declined by nearly a third, falling to 26,173 vehicles across Europe. This includes an astonishingly low number of over 800 vehicles in Britain, with only three examples of the flagship DS 9 registered.
