Xiaomi Automotive Factory Breaks Ground on New Plant Near First-Module Warehouse
The Beijing Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Commission Development Office of the Economic Technical Development Zone officially announced plans for a land division project of approximately 52 hectares on March 11th. The development will be adjacent to Xiaomi’s automobile factory.
In phase one, Xiaomi designed an automobile production plant with annual capacity of 150,000 units, allowing for efficient manufacturing processes that resulted in actual production exceeding initial estimates. By the end of 2024, Xiaomi delivered more than 136,854 vehicles and strengthened its goal for 2025 to deliver over 350,000 units. The newly obtained land YZ00-0606 street zone 0100 for industrial use will serve as the site for phase two production. That piece of land borders an existing first-module factory with only one road separate between the sites of both new facilities.
Groundbreaking took place on September 24 at the automotive plant construction project, which is expected to be completed by mid-2025. Following the completion of stage one and expansion of its ground presence for touristic activities, Xiaomi Automotive implemented full-scale renovations. Renovatory updates included: the regularity opening of tours every month with an assigned number of times per day on each working day, a five-day schedule of tours over weekends as well to public holidays.
The newly renovated facilities also opened up Xiaomi’s food court where guests can access original Xiaomi branded merchandise products for purchase in the park.
