Unleashing the Storm: Meet the Binyi Tiger 05 EV, Electric Power Unveiled

BYD's Leopotar S05 EV Unveiled, Compact Size Set to Rival Meng plus Models

BYD has introduced its latest electric vehicle, the Leopotar S05 EV. Measuring at comparable dimensions with the Meng PLUS, both vehicles are said to share an axle-to-length equivalence feature, marking a new addition to BYD's wide range of compact-sized SUVs.

The Leopotar S05 EV boasts a refreshed design language reminiscent of BYD's Oceanic aesthetic, including U-shaped running lamps and stretched-out frontal fixtures. The lighting setup is designed for both on-road and cross-country applications, offering an air of ruggedness in the front section. Two slots have been strategically integrated to direct airflow, enhancing driving dynamics.

Sidelines reveal the adoptive use of external door handles on push-style doors, low-profile air intakes, and blackened window frames. Size-wise, the Leopotar S05 has a lengthwise measurement of 4520mm, width 1860mm, and height 1630mm. Its wheelbase is fixed at an equal measure to that of its Meng PLUS counterpart.

The rearview mirror bears testament to BYD's continued use of marine-inspired motifs through the integrated LED lampwork. Though visually appealing, size constraints do contribute somewhat to a less-than-intimidating profile compared to larger counterparts.

Moving inside, recent teaser shots suggest the use of an interface incorporating liquid crystal dashboard displays coupled with floating touch control panels—a layout similar to other high-end BYD lineups like the Leopon GT 48 or even its latest flagship the Leopotar S05 EV variant with a three-spoke leather-clad steering wheel at its core. Notably within view are distinctive treadline patterns where there's an unmistakable influence by what we've previously seen in some of their top-tier offerings.

Powering these compact wonders is reportedly BYD’s dedicated Type-2 synchronous motor, yielding 140kW as standard—a feature coupled with Lithium ferro phosphate based battery packs that offer adequate efficiency to reach speeds at an astonishing 180km per hour while also incorporating independently suspended rear axles—offering enhanced support for stable on-road driving characteristics without unduly stressing their bodywork structures during faster journeys.

The Leopotar S05 EV is set to shake the compact SUV segment; its upcoming features and more information will be thoroughly followed by our automotive news team from close quarters.
