Mercedes-AMG Teases New Electric SUV, Powered by 1014 Horsepower
Mercedes-AMG has released a teaser image of its new electric SUV, set to debut in 2026 alongside an AMG GT electric edition. The vehicle is based on the AMG.EA platform and features four electric motors delivering maximum horsepower of 1014.
Designing from scratch with AMG Performance genes, this SUV will not be a derivative of the Porsche SUV brand as previously rumored, but rather will give precedence to performance over conventional models from Mercedes.
The teaser image showcases a stretched silhouette, aerodynamics with minimal wind resistance, and muscular design. The exterior renderings depict a car that closely resembles an AMG GT SUV; it boasts bold front-end features that conform to the latest design trends introduced by Mercedes. Upon release, this vehicle is expected to measure approximately 5.1 meters in length, boasting an overhanging wheelbase of more than 3 meters and competing against rivals such as the Rolls-Royce EQS SUV and the Lotus ELETRE.
