Biadi Shark Makes Global Debut at Thailand Auto Expo, Set to Revolutionize the Pickup Truck Segment

TheBiadi SHARK, a state-of-the-art pickup truck, officially made its global debut at the recent Thailand Auto Expo. The vehicle has been dubbed the "Shark 6" in Thailand and is expected to make waves in the Thai market upon its release.

Design-wise, the SHARK was spearheaded by Wolff Oliver Group's design team, who adopted a closed front grille and embedded the iconic BYD logo on the front. The car also features a range of LED lights, including daytime running lamps with LED strips integrated into the bodywork.

On the side profile, the SHARK boasts an open-twin seating arrangement accompanied by sturdy front and rear bumpers and winglets that evoke a powerful visual presence. There is also a central cargo compartment elevated above the cab, enhancing off-road capabilities.

The car's tail end features large 1450L rear trunk with an in-built 40mm-thick rear seat cushion, LED lights mounted along its body shape for better rearward visibility and aerodynamics enhancement. In terms of size, the SHARK measures at 5457/1971/1925mm with a wheelbase measuring at 3260mm.

Inside, designer Michael Pagnattieri led interior design. The in-car display includes an interactive touchscreen screen (size: 12.8-inches) alongside touch-sensitive knobs for steering wheel rotation adjustments and a prominent W-HUD lift-and-adjust head-up display integrated onto the rear windshield

The exterior is complemented by a front seat system equipped with six individually adjustable seats, electric drive control functionality which can switch on to automatic mode upon detecting driver fatigue. It features an advanced air conditioning system that ensures comfortable temperature inside, charging capacity could be 50W from 0-100%

Engine and Performance

A key selling point for the SHARK is its performance capabilities.

Driven by a unique plug-in hybrid-electric drive, this car boasts remarkable output with both electric motors yielding high figures. A mid-range speed of just 100kms will arrive in approximately 5.7 seconds while also boasting respectable efficiency under different driving conditions for the lower and upper classes.

Additionally, SHARK has a long wheelbase (3260mm), high towing capacity (2500kg) which supports towing capacities and its ground clearance has helped create multiple modes of driving suitable to challenging surface types including sandy land.
