China's Car Manufacturer Issues Recall Notice for Domestic Electric Cars

A China-based car manufacturer, Guangzhou Baoji Automobile Co ., Ltd., has filed a recall plan with the National Market Supervision Administration in accordance with the regulations on Handling Defective Products of Motor Vehicles and Has Taken the First Step to Notify State Consumers.

Affected Vehicles

The following vehicles will be recalled:

  • Domestic Electric MINI Cooper
  • domestic Electric MINI ACeman

Recall Batch

A total of 130 imported MINI Coopers produced between June 1, 2024, and October 10, 2024, and 47 imported MINI ACemans produced between June 30, 2024, and October 23, 2024 will be recalled.

Reason for Recall

The vehicle in question is being recalled because of a problem in the production process. Due to excessive overheating from the battery, the instrument panel's fault warning lamp may appear, leading to limited charging capabilities and potentially posing an operational risk to the driver.
