NIO announces ambitious plans for production expansion
NIO Limited, a leading Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has outlined its plans for significant production expansion in the coming years. At a recent media briefing, NIO's CEO, Li Bin, confirmed that the company expects to deliver more than 100,000 vehicles in December, with production and deliveries expected to reach 200,000 units by March next year.
NIO also announced plans to establish 1,000 charging stations by the end of this year and an additional 1,000 stations by April next year. This expansion aims to further solidify the company's position in the Chinese market.
In related news, NIO's latest model, the ET9, has been approved for mass production by the State Administration of Market Regulation (SAMR), making it one of the first EVs in China to undergo line control testing and validation. The ET9 is set to make its global debut on December 21 at the upcoming NIO Day event.
The company's efforts to expand its charging networks are also gaining momentum. Jiangsu province will become the first province to achieve regional-wide coverage by the end of 2024, with plans for further expansion in other provinces. The 9-9 Highway EV network is expected to officially complete construction this year, starting with over 200 stations already completed.
