Tesla High-Performance and 7-Seater Model Y Variants to Launch Later This Year
Tesla, the electric vehicle giant, recently made headlines in a popular overseas video show by revealing plans for multiple variants of its upcoming Model Y lineup, including high-performance and 7-seater models. The details are set to arrive later this year.
While existing model years have had their fair share of variations, the new Model Y is expected to introduce more options to cater to diverse needs.
One of the notable aspects of the new Model Y is its extended length, which should provide a more spacious interior compared to its predecessors. However, there's one crucial aspect that might raise eyebrows: despite the increased dimensions, Tesla has not changed the axle length.
As a result, the third-row space remains compact, with limited legroom and headspace. The seating arrangement also falls short of expectations, limiting seat comfort primarily for temporary passengers.

However, in another development, leaked information suggests that China will soon introduce an extended version of the Model Y, with a six-seater configuration similar to its larger sibling, the Model X. The new variant is reportedly scheduled to hit Chinese markets later this year.

Tesla has already launched two variants of the new Model Y: a rear-wheel drive version and a long-range all-wheel drive variant. Unfortunately, there's no word on when or if the high-performance version will become available.
The confirmation of a high-performance model reiterates previous speculations, with rumors pointing to accelerated performance enhancements and an unchanged peak power rating of 357 kilowatts.
While Tesla has not disclosed specific details regarding speed and acceleration figures, it is clear that there's reason to anticipate some exciting performance figures for the upcoming Model Y.
