Tank 500 Hi4-Z Opens Pre-Sales in China on December 3rd
The Chinese military vehicle manufacturer, China North Industries Corporation (CNTIC), has announced that the tank 500 Hi4-Z will go into pre-sales starting from December 3rd.
Compared to its predecessor, the 500 Hi4-Z boasts a brand new off-road platform called Hi4-Z. This cutting-edge platform is equipped with an innovative plug-in hybrid e-drive system, which consists of an independent four-wheel drive structure. The vehicle's appearance has been revamped to match its advanced capabilities, with a striking red and white gradient paint job. Notably, the rear bumper sports Hi4-Z badging, setting it apart from its predecessor.
Inside, the 500 Hi4-Z retains much of the familiar layout and design cues found on its more conventional counterpart. The centerpiece remains an all-liquid crystal display (LCD) instrument cluster, paired with a large touchscreen infotainment system.
When it comes to underpinnings, the vehicle retains a lightweight, non-body-on-frame chassis. Powering the 500 Hi4-Z is a powertrain that consists of a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, along with two electric motors located in the front and rear axles. The arrangement allows for a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) setup that reaps benefits from both internal combustion and electrification.
Detailed specifications reveal an astonishing figure of up to 200 kilometers under WLTC cycling test conditions using pure electricity alone before switching back to conventional propulsion; however fast charging speeds of 163 kilowatts allow users achieve over a hundred kilometers' range rechargeable via the same.
