Rev Up for Victory: U9 Newburgh Green Track Lap Record Set at 17.9s!

APEX U9 Showcases Exceptional Performance at Nürburgring

The APEX U9, a high-performance electric vehicle from the Chinese manufacturer 仰望 (Apex), has officially announced its results in the iconic Nürburgring Circuit. The car achieved a lap time of 7 minutes and 17.9 seconds, setting a new benchmark for production cars in the esteemed circuit.

"We are thrilled to share this milestone with our team and partners," said胡晓庆, the enthusiast who initially shared the news on social media. "This achievement showcases the capabilities of our APEX U9, the result of years of dedication and innovation from our Chinese supercar and engineering teams."

The Nürburgring North Loop Circuit is renowned for its challenging 20.8-kilometer course with high-speed sections and considerable elevation changes. The circuit has been nicknamed "Green Hell" both for cars and drivers due to its extreme demands.

The APEX U9 boasts four electric motors producing a combined power of 960 kW (1306 horsepower), which enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 2.36 seconds, while also delivering 9.78 seconds for a quarter-mile sprint. A 80 kWh battery pack provides an estimated CLTC range of 450 kilometers.

To clarify any confusion surrounding the "production car" terminology,胡晓庆 clarified: "Currently, U9 is not on sale in Europe and does not meet the official Nürburgring requirements for production cars, mainly due to missing regional certifications and already being sold in markets outside of Europe."

When asked about the possibility of the APEX U9 being classified as a production car, Hu explained: "Despite this, we are working tirelessly on obtaining recognition. For instance, Tesla Model S Plaid with Track Package was already recognized, but since it wasn’t officially registered through all the official channels, the results were considered separate."

Hu further stated that APEX U9 is expected to receive full recognition in not too long a future once the car passes checks and tests under the Nürburgring and other relevant authorities. As such, the mentioned 7:17.9 time was determined after passing full scrutiny by officials, eliminating any doubts on the authenticity of APEX results.

Notably, unlike small-mid sized electric range topers such as Xiaomi’s SU7 Ultra that released its unedited video online following their first test session, Hu explained, there are no videos yet, adding to public anticipation for an immediate release once authorities give a thumbs up.
