Hyundai's New Electric Vehicle, the HL, Revealed
Hyundai has officially unveiled its new electric vehicle, codenamed AH8, featuring a brand-new platform and architecture. Positioned above the HT model, this latest addition is expected to push the brand's electrification efforts further upmarket.
Measuring 5,126mm in length and 3,088mm in wheelbase, the HL boasts an impressive design language akin to that of an earthy boat cruiser. At the front, it retains elements from previous Hyundai models while introducing futuristic features, including smart interactive lighting schemes designed to evoke a sense of ceremony.
In terms of safety features, the AH8 promises improved autonomous capabilities thanks to its extensive use of laser technology. Although specifics have not been released, it's clear this new Hyundai model will set high standards for drivers.
Upon examining the vehicle from the side, we observe smooth curves complemented by hidden door handles and aerodynamic wheel designs that exude sophisticated taste. The rear section employs integrated tail lights with vertical design elements from both an artistic and functional standpoint. It measures 5,126mm in length and 3,088mm in wheelbase.
Inside, Hyundai has promised advanced comfort and technology features through its ADIGO 6.0 smart interior system powered by Edge AI and advanced cloud-based services. Design similarities with the HT model can be seen, along with amenities like flat-sided seats for passengers, large dual LCD instrument clusters, floating infotainment displays, among others — hinting towards a 2+2+2 passenger capacity.
Electric powertrain-wise, Hyundai says it will come equipped with plug-in hybrid variants and purely electric capabilities. Moreover, the AH8 promises to integrate advanced 'float-sensor' ride suspension technology that utilizes digital intelligence to optimize comfort levels on any road surface.
With its robust engineering backed by substantial AI capabilities, Hyundai is set to unveil new standards in both luxury and driving capabilities by the time it arrives at the 2024 Guangzhou auto show.
