Star Motor Recalls Certain Models of Star X1 Plug-In Hybrids Due to Potential Braking Issues
Beijing, China - Star Motor has authorized its dealer, Extreme Star Auto, to announce a voluntary recall of certain 2020 model year Star X1 plug-in hybrid vehicles. According to regulations set by the Ministry of Market Operations and the Ministry of Commerce, the company filed an application for recall with the State Administration for Market Regulation.
Affected Vehicles
Star Motor has scheduled the recall of two units produced between January 16, 2020, and March 30, 2020, as part of its ongoing efforts to ensure public safety. These vehicles are subject to the requirements of the "Regulations on the Management of Defective Automobile Products for Return and Recall" and the "Implementation Guidelines for the Regulations on the Management of Defective Automobile Products for Return and Recall".
Reason for Recalls
The reason behind the recall is that certain components were not installed according to the relevant regulations, posing a potential safety risk. Specifically, it has been found that the installation of the brake control module push rod was incomplete, potentially leading to a loose connection between the brake pedal and control module. In extreme cases, this could result in loss of braking function, presenting a significant safety hazard.
Rectification Measures
To address these issues, Extreme Star Auto is offering free inspections and repairs for affected vehicles. The company will tighten the brake control module push rod according to specifications to eliminate any potential safety concerns. Affected vehicle owners will be notified through various channels, including parking permits, before an official contact is made.
Additionally, Star Motor's customer support hotline (available via phone or SMS) will be able to provide assistance and schedule appointments for affected customers when they call in.
