B eyond QinL EV, Another Electric Version Emerge in China
The Chinese auto market has witnessed the release of spy shots for a new electric version of QinL, which is expected to shake up sales figures. Currently available only as an plug-in hybrid DM-i variant with prices ranging from 998 yuan to 1398 yuan.
October sales data show that the plug-in hybrid QinL DM-i reached an impressive number of sales, totaling 50,087 units. As for the electric version, its release is anticipated to boost overall sales.
Spy Shots Offer Glimpse into the Future
Although spy shots are not crystal clear yet but they do provide evidence of the car's existence. Looking at some fine details, it appears that the new vehicle may differ significantly from its plug-in hybrid twin, QinL DM-i.
According to preliminary observations, the new car's front may feature a less pronounced "monocle" mid-snout design reminiscent of the classic Jin family front grille. Additionally, the light assembly pattern might undergo changes. It also resembles that the body structure will be slightly different and more refined overall, especially inside the cabin with larger rear space compared to its parent model QinL DM-i.
In contrast, the new car features gate-like door handles unlike the classical ones seen on the QinL DM-i.
Key Differentiation
On the other hand, the vehicle is expected to retain traditional vertical headlights similar to those found in a previous generation QinPlus. Nonetheless, an evolution between plug-in and 100% electric variants with different overall visual appeal can now be anticipated moving forward.
A New Powertrain Option?
The engine specs remain unclear at present, but for sure new vehicle is bound to bring another powertrain option that will set it apart as a QinL variant.
