Tongji E-Nine to Hit Showrooms in February
The Tongji E-Nine, a compact SUV, is set to arrive at showrooms around the end of February, followed by test drives starting in mid-February. Pre-selling will commence afterwards, with the car expected to hit the market sometime by late February or early March.
Tongji's General Manager for Marketing, Zhao Longjiang, revealed that the E-Nine would initially be launched as an electric hybrid version, boasting a range of over 200 kilometers on a single charge. Future plans include the release of a fully-electric model in the coming months.
Designed using Tongji's latest styling cues, the E-Nine is built around a spacious and well-appointed interior. A user-friendly three-screen layout will be featured, with larger central screen, both side screens integrated into the center console. The dashboard emphasizes attention to detail and quality materials.
The 2+2+2 seating arrangement accommodates rear passengers with amenities like liquid crystal screens and miniature tables at their disposal. Three distinct color palettes have been envisioned: domestic homespun, commercial suits, or sportier tones.
In terms of engine capabilities, the plug-in hybrid variant produces a total output of 680 kW, coupled with 207 hp (152 kW) from its 2.0T turbocharged petrol motor, all within an environmentally-friendly design. In contrast, the electric drive type stands at around 710 kW for power delivery. Tongji's proprietary Technology enables further advanced features such as rear wheel independent suspension and aerodynamic benefits.
