China's Geely Reports Record-Breaking Sales for the First Time Exceeding 200 Million Vehicles in a Single Year
Beijing, November 1 - Geely Group announced its sales figures for October and the first ten months of 2024. According to the data, the group sold 2,211,550 vehicles in October alone, a year-over-year increase of 35.9%. Export sales reached 111,922 units, up by 18.8% from last year. The company also saw significant growth in its new energy vehicle (NEV) segment.
For the first ten months of this year, Geely Group sold 2,024,948 vehicles, a year-over-year increase of 39.3%, surpassing its total of 2023 for the entire year and marking the company's first time exceeding 200 million units in a single calendar year.
The breakdown by segment shows that Geely Group sold 1,083,673 vehicles in the domestic market, representing a year-over-year growth rate of 56.3%. Meanwhile, its overseas exports reached 941,275 units, with a year-over-year increase of 23.8%.
In terms of fuel-efficient vehicles and NEVs, Geely saw significant gains. The company sold 1,621,830 fuel-efficient vehicles in the first ten months, representing a year-over-year growth rate of 22.7%. Moreover, its NEV sales reached 403,118 units for the same period, with a year-over-year increase of 205.4%.
Brand-wise, Geely's flagship brand Geely sold 165,289 vehicles in October and 1,278,830 units over the first ten months, up by 32.4% from last year. The Geely Boy model continued to shine with high demand.
Other brands, including Starway, Chery, iCAR, and Ji Jiang Xing, made significant contributions to the group's overall performance. Starway sold 16,594 units in October and 112,540 units over the first ten months. The brand saw a year-over-year growth rate of 17.2%. Meanwhile, iCAR reported 6,965 vehicles in October and 49,763 units for the entire period.
Geely's latest electric vehicle model, R7 by Ji Jiang Xing, has been well-received in the market with 6,897 deliveries recorded in October so far.
