China's Electric Vehicle Charging Revolution Gains Momentum

In the wake of Baidu's announcement of its 200W fast charging technology on March 17, Huawei and Extreme Power have also unveiled plans to launch 200W level chargers, with their releases set to coincide with the Shanghai motor show later this month.

Huawei released an preview of its 200W level charger product on March 29, touting a maximum charging current of 2400A and a maximum power output of 1.5MW. The charger's design allows for rapid top-ups: in just 10 minutes, it can fully charge the battery to 100%. Plans call for the full specs to be revealed when the product officially launches on April 22.

Extreme Power took an earlier step with its announcement of a 1.2MW liquid-cooled charger for March 30 release, promising that more details will be revealed during the Shanghai motor show set to place in April. Moreover, Baidu's "Flash Charge" technology was released by Baidu three days ago on March 17 with a high-power electric system at 1360 kw, 1-second charging two kilometers and five minutes up to 400 km at normal speed, reaching at maximum charging voltage of 1000 volts, maximaI charge current and Maxima charging efficiency.
