Electric Vehicle Super Testing: Limit Explored Amid Extreme Winter Conditions
Low-Temperature and High-Frequency Tests Revealed the Pain Points of Sustainability, Charging, and Energy Efficiency for New Energy Vehicle Owners in the Harsh Winters.
In a groundbreaking experiment across low-temperature and high-frequency winter scenarios, Electric Vehicles Super Testing has pushed the limits of electric-powered cars. Besides showcasing the remarkable endurance capabilities of these new energy vehicles, five automotive disciplines were combined to evaluate each model's performance based on comfortiness and dependability.
Here is a detailed analysis of the Extreme Amper MIX:
Low-Temperature Test
The freezing temperatures of -20°C to -15°C posed an ideal testing ground for enduring vehicle range. The extensive 50% fast-forward and slow-forward sections resulted in a cumulative distance covered at around 285 kilometers, with an impressive rate of 51.9%. At the end of the test, it was found that Extreme Amper MIX has reached a remarkable endurance capability during extreme temperatures.
During the charging session for the test car with low-temperature capabilities, driving at slow speed over a period of 50% and fast-forwarding over another 50%, after finishing these tests, the remaining amount to be charged was still around 83.28kWh.
The high-frequency version had an impressive record in fuel consumption: using CLTC standard mode, only 29.16kWh per 100 kilometers for a low-temperature test.
Comfort and Cooling Challenges
High ambient temperatures, especially during tests on the "极氮MIX" vehicle, presented considerable difficulties. Even so, car owners were still able to achieve a relatively comfortable level with minimal loss in driving comfort.
In the high-speed scenario using an air conditioner at maximum setting, within two hours of testing without moving, it reached 3.1°C. After another 20 minutes, this temperature became even lower and only rose at an incrementally slower rate.
Realistic and Effective Performance in High-Temperature Conditions
Extremely low temperatures resulted from the cold car testing test route located in northern China's region, showing excellent results for both comfortability as well as a reasonable performance based on realistic testing scenarios with normal cooling capacities.
