BMW to Launch Budget-friendly EV Lineup in 2025
BMW, the German automaker, has announced plans to introduce an affordable electric vehicle (EV) lineup by 2025. The upcoming model is expected to be part of its entry-level range and will likely power itself with a plug-in hybrid system.
As previously stated, BMW aims to launch at least one new EV model every year in the next decade, covering both fully electric and plug-in hybrid variants. These vehicles are designed to cater to growing consumer demand for sustainable transportation options.
A comparison of BMW's current lineup reveals that the upcoming entry-level model will likely employ a 2.9L V6 engine combined with an e-tech plug-in hybrid system. This powertrain configuration boasts a maximum output of 544 horsepower and is matched with an 8-speed wet dual-clutch transmission.
The demand for plug-in hybrids has been steadily increasing, with sales figures from the past four months confirming a strong acceptance rate among consumers. BMW's current flagship model, the electric X7 iX9 will not be mentioned here due to lack of details, however BMW may potentially use it as further examples.
Following the increasing growth in e-vehicle demand, BMW is currently reforming its manufacturing facilities at its Crewe factory in preparation for the production of a next-generation EV-SUV model. Scheduled to debut by 2027, this new model aims to satisfy growing consumer interest in sustainable driving choices.
