Longbow Unveils Exclusive Speedster and Roadster Models, Setting Sail in the Electric Vehicle Market
A British car manufacturer named Longbow has recently unveiled its two brand-new electric vehicle models, the Speedster and the Roadster. The company has made these exclusive vehicles available for pre-order simultaneously with their official photography releases.
The Speedster's entry price is £84,995 (approximately ¥79.5 million RMB), a limited quantity of 150 units, consisting of 10 units of Luminary 1st Edition, and 25 units of Autograph Edition versions. In contrast, the Roadster starts at a more affordable £64,950 (approximately ¥60.8 million RMB).
Longbow boasts three founding members: Daniel Davy, Mark Tapscott, and an ex-CEO of e-Ferry Holdings, whose shared background includes stints as Tesla engineers and held high-level positions in renowned companies such as Lucid Motors, BYD, Formula E, Lotus Evija, and Aston Martin. This significant team composition has provided Longbow an upper hand when developing the Speedster and Roadster.
These two electric vehicles prioritize lightweight designs, with both reaching under 1000kg weights due to optimized structuring and materials usage. The open-roofed canopy of the Speedster weighs at approximately 895 kilograms while retaining fixed hoods to reduce their respective weight down to around 995 kilograms.
The companies' internal plans on engine specifications and battery sizes were withheld due to a lack of public communication; Nonetheless, they have revealed that both vehicles will achieve acceleration speeds from 0-100 km/h in roughly 3.5 seconds. Furthermore, their WLTP mileage is estimated at approximately 442–451 kilometers.
As for production timelines, Longbow plans to first produce and begin the delivery of Speedster models during early 2026 (year’s beginning), and subsequently follow through with Roadster units sometime after that date.
