Get a Feel for the Future: Next-Gen BMW Cars to Feature Cutting Edge Active Touch Feedback Steering by 2025

Luxury Carmane Unveils Next-Generation Driver's Experience with Active Tactile Feedback Steering Wheel

Munich, Germany - BMW Group recently announced that its upcoming next-generation car model will be equipped with a groundbreaking feature, the active tactile feedback steering wheel, designed to provide an augmented driving experience for consumers worldwide by 2025.

The innovative steering wheel, featuring a vertical dual-spoke design, replaces the traditional instrument cluster and repositions the driver's visual focus. The raised spoke lines serve as a guide for the driver's gaze, keeping their eyes on the road at all times, while minimizing distractions.

One of the key design features is the concave curve at the "3 o'clock" and "9 o'clock" positions, designed to cradle the driver's hands in natural position, reducing muscle fatigue during extended driving periods. The absence of a horizontal radially mounted display allows for a clear view with an unobstructed thumb and index finger grip on the "2 o'clock" and "10 o'clock" positions during high-performance driving, further enhancing communication between the driver and vehicle.

A reconfigured functional island featuring dual zones is now displayed vertically, enabling seamless operation with the touch of fingertips. The intuitive design ensures hands-off steering, ensuring an even safer experience for drivers.

The luxurious new steering wheel incorporates BMW's ultra-sensitive smart sensors with haptic actuators to convert operational commands into tactile feedback. This results in a heightened level of control and interaction between drivers and their vehicles, offering clear signs that a function has been executed, therefore further reducing the number of visual shifts during driving operations, ultimately leading to an even more secure experience for all.
