On January 6th, BAIC showcased its latest mid-size SUV, the S7, showcasing its cutting-edge interior design along with advanced technology features powered by BAIC's own AI-powered intelligent driving system.
The S7 boasts an overall sleek and modern design language that is expected to appeal to current customers. With an emphasis on a flat and horizontal dashboard line, accompanied by an oversized instrument cluster screen and dual-spoke multifunctional steering wheel, the interior embodies both style and functionality. Additionally, the vehicle offers convenient features like mobile wireless charging, head-up display, and advanced ambient lighting system.
The interior is complemented by its unique seat design featuring a textured pattern, with rear seats that can be repositioned to fit multiple angles for an enhanced driving experience. The second row seats also support four-point adjustments, resulting in increased cargo space. Furthermore, the S7 features 22 high-fidelity speakers that provide immersive audio with features such as Dolby full scene sound and a day-night high-power microphone system for optimal passenger comfort.
Outside, the vehicle sports a completely new design language described as 'hidden sharpness,' which enhances the overall sense of refinement. Notable is its front grille designed to envelop the corners, complemented by a frontal air dam creating stronger visual impact. In addition, headlights comprised of 2248 light elements can be pre-set with at least eight emotional states for user experience.
From an aesthetic perspective, these features result in superior visibility with increased identification metrics in low-light conditions.
In terms of side view, the vehicle comes equipped with a hidden door handle paired with a floating B pillar design, supported by twenty-inch alloy wheels that provide excellent visual appeal. The rear end boasts a distinctive star-shaped ambient lighting system.
The S7 marks BAIC's first mass-produced high-end intelligent driving vehicle, boasting cutting-edge light sensors and incorporating the L2++ AI-powered intelligent driving system for enhanced performance.
A hybrid version has already been submitted for regulatory approval; this powertrain features an integrated system powered by 1.5-liter engine with a maximum output of 118 kW paired with advanced electric technology for optimal operation and range.
