Geely's New Maxence Fuel Cell SUV Hits the Road

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has unveiled images of the new Geely Maxence fuel cell SUV, which boasts a natural aspiration 1.5L engine similar to the purely electric variant.

The front face of the vehicle features a novel design element - an unbounded mesh grille, while maintaining its simple and clean aesthetic approach. The headlights are equipped with a lens design and a sleek black finisher. Conversely to the electric model, the fuel cell version is equipped with traditional car doors opening from the rear rather than a side-hinged door. Moreover, the rear of the vehicle features large entry doors for easy loading.

The dimensions of the new model stand out at 4515mm in length, 1725mm in width and 1790mm in height, while it is 2850mm long axles. Equipped with a natural aspiration 1.5L natural aspirator engine which possesses a maximum power output of 81 kilowatts, the new generation Maxence’s top speed reaches to 155 kilometers per hour.

Overall, Geely is pushing forward its electric car technology while expanding fuel cell SUV market.
