Chinese E-Bike Maker Extends Range with AI-Integrated Safety Features and Smartphone App Upgrades
A Chinese e-bike manufacturer has launched a software update, or Over-The-Air (OTA) upgrade, to its Alfa S/Alfa T models. The firmware update includes nine new features that improve the ride experience.
Firstly, the dashboard display now shows information from the rider's Weidian cloud music player, including album covers, song titles, artists, and playback progress. The user can also toggle a feature called "See Say" which allows voice control for navigation, such as saying "turn right ahead". This convenience upgrade also streamlines the radio interface.
The system has been optimized to improve accessibility of stored favorites when riding. Moreover, changes have made to mobile app store updates and user experience, improving how users access updates in one click.
In terms of performance driving safety, the Alfa e-bikes are equipped with improved air conditioning features, including a function that reduces audio during radar alerts for enhanced driver alertness. Additionally, there is an improved parking assistant to enhance rearview visibility.
Furthermore, improvements have been made to the media playback on USB/ hard disk interfaces. Riders can now keep playing content from their smartwatch by locking their car door and setting it back to "lock" mode after logging in on the drive.
Finally, this update has introduced smarter navigation which enables deeper shades for better viewing contrast during nighttime or shaded driving conditions if the bike computer is not using auto-dimming settings. Additionally there's a feature that turns off LED illumination when idle with customizable options.
