Acura Joins China's High-End Car Market with New 007GT Model

On January 21, official website of Geely-owned brand Acura announced the launch of second-generation hunting sedan, 007GT. After completing pre-certification earlier, the car is expected to be released in the second quarter of this year.

Based on the existing 007 model, the 007GT has been designed and engineered to embody the hunting language of Acura while utilizing advanced technology. Its sleek design and fusion of optical and functional elements creates a harmonious visual identity with notable angular front hood, merged headlamps, and slimmer rear deck lid.

The front-to-rear sweep angle of 007GT is greater than the existing 007 at an 16°-18°, improving driving dynamism by enhancing both corner entry and exit points respectively. The Acura tagline "Tactile for Touch" can already be observed in its new form, as it effectively combines front bumper and wheel arches seamlessly, generating a distinctive visual effect.

The body's left and right sides also tell an interesting story – according to the manufacturer, 007GT boasts equal lengths of the upper and lower suspensions by half and three-quarters respectively, which enhances better riding comfort while allowing adequate space in the compartment. From behind, the unique styling of the rear fender features substantial spare and wheel wells as well that not only increase cargo space but also provide better headroom for passengers.

Other notable information about 007GT is related to dimensions: with a length of 4864/1900/1460mm (C/D/A), and track width 2925mm, the two rear lights are positioned lower compared to sedan version on top B pillar. As well as an improved stance and larger aerodynamic effect.

Two types of wheels are available for 007GT, a size of 245 / 45 R19 and 255/40R20, also it utilizes same powertrain system that the previous 007 model with 310kW single-motor AWD. Its highest output can reach up to 210km/h.

In addition, the battery type for this version, only phosphoric acid iron-lithium or lithium-trimetal hydride, which will provide better handling at cold conditions while maintaining long-term performance.
