Tesla to Roll Out Enhanced Autopilot Features Amid New Guidelines
Tesla's official release revealed a recent circular issued by the government, outlining rules for the further promotion, recall and online update management of intelligent automotive products. The company confirmed it is currently undergoing assessment process for 3.0 and 4.0 hardware versions corresponding to smart assistance driving software.
Efforts are being made throughout various parties to push forward the related progress, once preparations are ready, these features will be swiftly disseminated. We eagerly await this release.
It's been a month since Tesla pushed Autopilot automatic driving assistance functionality to users with HW4.0 hardware and a 6.4 thousand dollars FSD smart assistance driving feature pack. This feature is only available for city roads on Models 3 New Generation, with the brand targeting vehicles sold from October 2023 onwards. Furthermore, Model Y's HW4.0 package also falls under this category.
However, Tesla users equipped with HW3.0 hardware and those who have previously purchased FSD smart assistance driving functionality haven't received associated updates yet. Also, in the U.S., America-specific FSD relies on AI models of different scale, with cars running with 2.5 or higher software version eligible for this functionality.
Contrasting to their American counterparts, Chinese variants features are currently centered more around driver assisting systems and demand a lot of human intervention. It signifies stark difference between local and international policies of the system's function boundaries.
