China's Leading EV Maker, Geely Holding, Makes Waves with Jilin Star
Geely Holding has recently made a significant move in the electric vehicle (EV) market with its latest model, Jilin Star. Since its launch 16 days ago, the car has reached over 10,000 units sold, surpassing the 20,000-unit mark within just 33 days. By day 49, it has already hit three times this milestone.
The numbers do not lie – Geely's latest offering is a major force to be reckoned with in China's thriving EV sector. The Jilin Star, positioned as a compact pure electric car, boasts impressive features that set it apart from its competitors.
Key specs include:
- Length: 4135mm
- Width: 1805mm
- Height: 1570mm
- Axle length: 2650mm
Available in two color schemes and offering multiple design options, the Jilin Star is both aesthetically pleasing and functional.
Inside, the car features a dual-toned interior – one matching traditional white and the other inspired by a mystical forest. The interior's ambiance changes with the lighting; in areas such as door panels and dashboard trim, the effect is similar to walking through skyscrapers.
Geely has developed its Flyme Auto system for this model, highlighting the integration of modern automobile features:
- A 14.6-inch touchscreen
- Wallpapers customizable
- Map loading on a scaled 750 map size (from GaoDe)
- Seamless integration with mobile devices
- Dual voice assistance zones
The Jilin Star is built using GE A new-energy architectures and designed as a highly efficient vehicle. Equipped with either 58 kW or 85 kW in dual electric motors, the car features:
- Two versions of battery power: 310 km for short range and 410 km for extended range
- Cooling systems by DENSO and Ningde Battery
- A fast charging time through both single and multiple voltage charging
Geely's use of their proprietary systems contributes significantly to the market trends seen in China.
