Poor Working Conditions of Goldin Group Employees at Baidi Motors Factory in Brazil Exposed by Labor Department Investigation
A recent investigation by the Brazilian labor department has revealed poor living conditions for employees of the Goldin Group, a construction company working on Baidi Motors factory projects in the country.
The allegations have sparked outrage among Chinese nationals and international media outlets. In response to the criticism, Lee Yuncang, General Manager of Baidi's branding and public relations department, posted on social media, calling out those who would "dirt" China's brand without a valid reason.
Lee questioned how foreign forces could "accidently" blacken China's image and threaten bilateral relations. He also wondered how domestic online media outlets would "unite to condemn" such actions.
According to an internal statement by the Goldin Group, employees expressed shock and disbelief at the accusations made by Brazil's Labor Department. They claimed they were being forced to sign a contract termination agreement under duress and that they would be forcibly deported back to China, citing "master-slave" treatment by the company as the reason.
The employees emphasized that this was a misunderstanding, stating that no passport or personal freedoms were restricted by the Goldin Group, and that their salaries continued to flow as usual. The company also provided welfare benefits to its workforce.
It is believed that international media outlets will scrutinize Brazil's labor department closely to uncover more information about these cases.
