Huawei Officially Announces Availability of Q5 M8, Aiming to Challenge Existing Luxury Car Segment
Beijing, April 4 - According to official sources, the Huawei Q5 M8 is set to hit the market in April. The car had previously targeted a launch at the Shanghai Auto Show, followed by an anticipated delivery date in May and June.
Interestingly, considering similar models like M9, with prices ranging from CNY 46.98-56.98 thousands, and ideal L9 priced between CNY 40.98-43.98 thousands, it is speculated that the Q5 M8's pricing will fall right within this competitive range. This competition could possibly pose a significant challenge to existing luxury car brands.
Exterior Design
A brief reference to previous spy shots has confirmed that the new model largely follows Q5 M9's design. Notable modifications have been observed mainly in details, and the overall dimensions of the car are specified as 5190/1999/1795, a ground clearance of 3105mm and an overall size which suggests the vehicle to be spacious.
Interior Design
Compared with its predecessor Q5 M8's, what is noteworthy this time around was the use of more extensive screens in the front row that might slightly decrease its height in comparison with M9. Furthermore, a different configuration would exist below it concerning no wireless charging plate. While in terms of audio system, one could find display, loudspeaker of Huawei as well but with unique touch.
Performance
The new Q5 has been equipped with 1.5T turbocharged engine boosting power up to 118kW, efficiency measuring around 500W at WLTC level under 100km. One more feature is its double electric unit where the maximum output would be of 165kW in both front and rear direction at peak load.
