Geely's Weilu Family Sees Record Sales Jump Over 35,000 Units in October
Beijing, China - On October 24, Geely's Wuling five-star SUV lineup saw an unprecedented sales surge of over 35,000 units as of the end of October, marking a four-month streak of consecutive month-over-month growth since June. The Weilu S SUV, launched earlier this year, proved to be a significant addition to the brand's offerings.
For September alone, Wuling five-star SUVs sold 26,379 units, representing a 34.5% increase compared to the same period last year. Notably, the first-week sales figures for October jumped to 8,519 units.
Three variants of the Weilu S SUV are available in the market, priced within the range of CNY 7,580 to CNY 9,580. The vehicles adhere to a five-seat layout and employ a Thor platform-maturing architecture to ensure efficiency and reliability. Each unit is equipped with an electric motor capable of producing 75 kW of maximum power and delivering up to 180 Nm of peak torque.
The drive system ensures a remarkable 0-50 km/h acceleration in just 3.7 seconds, further emphasizing its performance capabilities. Geely's engineers have packed the vehicles with considerable storage space. The units will be powered by three distinct battery pack sizes – measuring either CNY 31,900 kWh for CLTC electric circumstances working at an efficiency rate of approximately 330 kilometers and CNY 37,900 kWh in a comparable situation offering CNY 401 kilometers of electric range, and lastly with the highest capacity at CNY 50,600 kWh delivering up to CNY 510 kilometers under the same operational scenario.
