Kia Reveals New SUV, HL, for Chinese Market

Kia has announced that its new mid-size SUV, the Kia HL, will go on sale in March with a starting price of around 3.5 million yuan (approximately $530,000 USD). The official competition from fellow Korean automaker BYD includes models like the M6 and L6.

In terms of design, Kia'sHL features a nautical-inspired approach, reminiscent of boats, while retaining some familiar family traits on the front grille's LED headlights. The bumper also incorporates smart interactive lights to create an ominous ambiance. The rear end features a unique through-runs lamp system paired with two vertical geometric source lighting elements.

The interior boasts a spacious wrap-around cockpit design inspired by sailboats, accompanied by a nameplate called "Sea Horizon." The seven-seater layout takes up 17-inch multitouch center displays paired alongside HUD head-up display systems using all the three steering wheels with ellipses. Kia has also opted for the luxury-oriented double-trimming that features 18-point massage settings and 12-fold electric adjustability.
