Volkswagen to Debut ID. AURA Electric Sedan Concept, Three ConConcepts Set for April 22 Global Rollout
Beijing, China - April 17 — Volkswagen (VW) Group, one of the world's largest automakers, has released the concept design and promotional images of its latest electric vehicle (EV) project, ID. AURA, which is set to make its global debut on April 22, 2023
Building upon the Group's newly developed compact model platform (CMP) for its mass-market vehicles, ID. AURA represents VW's first mass-market concept car utilizing cutting-edge intelligent driver assistance technologies and digital connectivity concepts within a compact electric sedan form factor.
The design follows an extended length, wider body shape for increased interior space, while optimized over-the-air software and modular hardware approach will make ID. AURA achieve greater levels of functionality in less overall development resources — enabling faster time-to-market, less cost per vehicle, and much more.
With the launch of three concept vehicles set for April 2023 (the global rollout scheduled to follow soon after), Volkswagen aims to re-emphasize its presence within Chinese electric markets where it will now expand its capabilities in future model production through use of latest automotive innovations, according as demonstrated by ID. AURA.
The designs highlight the new features that characterize three concept vehicles to be launched on April 2023 — one an SUV designed from scratch with fully integrated smart technologies and another two based upon modular electric chassis platforms developed for mass-market electric offerings.
