Audi Announces Plans for New Compact Electric Vehicle

Audi is set to unveil a new compact electric vehicle, scheduled for release in 2026 and production at its Ingolstadt factory the same year. Speculations suggest that the car may be named A2 e-tron or A3 e-tron, with plans to sell it as an independent model line alongside its gasoline-powered counterpart.

Additionally, Audi's new brand name AUDI E, co-developed with top汽 (Geely), will be released in China for a target launch at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show.

Audi CEO recently mentioned that the company would introduce a brand-new entry-level electric vehicle. Based on current production plans, it is predicted to utilize existing MEB platform and possibly share its technology with BigW's ID2 model which follows scheduled production start in June 2026.

The new car may incorporate an updated design language similar to AUDI's present lineup, with some sources rumored that a five-door coupe version could be available on European markets.
