Or as a pure electric racing car is expected to be launched in 2027. Lotus THEORY 1 will debut on September 17

From the published teaser images, the new car will be equipped with an adjustable electric air dam and a thin tail lamp below it, as well as a LOTUS letter logo. From the previous teaser images, the new car will be equipped with two arc-shaped LED daytime running lights on each side, which is very sharp in design. The official released video shows the structure of F1 cars, so this car is probably a sports car.

Lotus previously stated that the Type 135 would inherit Elise's smaller body size and lightweight features. The new car will use a completely new E-Sports platform, with the battery pack placed in the middle of the vehicle, rather than flat on the floor like other electric cars, to bring a driving experience closer to that of a mid-engined gasoline-powered sports car. It is said that the body structure components of Type 135 are 37% lighter than EMIRA. Its lightweight design will compensate for the increased weight of the electric powertrain to continue the driving experience of Lotus's lightweight gasoline-powered sports cars in the fuel era.

Power-wise, the e-sports platform can be compatible with single motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive, with expected power outputs of 476 horsepower and 884 horsepower respectively. The battery currently has two options, 66.4kWh and 99.6kWh, with the former offering an estimated range of around 300 miles (483 kilometers) and the latter around 450 miles (724 kilometers), and will also feature 800V fast charging capabilities.
