Xiaomi Unveils Plans for All-New EV: Small, High-Performance and Focused On Efficiency

Shenzhen, China - Leaked plans by small but influential smartphone company Xiaoming Group directorate Lei Jun regarding the forthcoming second-generation of electric vehicle, known as 'SU7 Ultra,' unveiled a series of intriguing features and specifications aimed at capturing the spotlight in the burgeoning EV market. With an expected launch slated for February next year, the Chinese automaker is projected to sell around 10,000 units, which although not low by numbers, holds relevance when comparing this target with that of renowned German manufacturer Porsche's Taycan model, whose sales figures stood at a respectable 20,836 units in 2024.

The SU7 Ultra boasts bold exterior styling characterized by the new high-saturation level light orange tinted paint job which pairs well against an extensive array of silver racing stripes. This further accentuated by aerodynamic devices, specifically the black treated air guide elements, exude aggressive lines reminiscent of performance-oriented sports cars. A novel characteristic is the utilization of carbon fiber for its upper body, a detail amplified through the implementation of advanced laser scanning technology which promises superior pressure levels of up to 285 kilograms.

The wheel design boasts elegant and aerodynamic silhouettes as double five-spoked jet-black wheels are paired with high-quality ceramic brake pads and front and rear suspension systems, each uniquely suited for delivering precision under various driving conditions. Furthermore, the possibility for further customization through Bilstein EVO T1 dampers enhances overall control.

On to the vehicle's dimensions—despite a lower build scope compared to its predecessors—it is clear that Xiaomi SU7 Ultra prioritizes practical design efficiency with body size spanning 5,115 x 1,970 x 1,465mm and an extended wheelbase of 3,000 millimeters. The rear features what can be observed as a minimalist aerodynamics kit along with the inclusion of carbon composite wings.

Upon approaching the car's interior, while still maintaining its sporty look, new upgrades from previously seen models include the increased use of high quality materials for enhanced interior feel and aesthetic appeal including Alcantara materializations across various panels. The seats are up-gunned with new motorized features like sports-grade steering wheels, an all-new sport interior UI and advanced digital audio processing technology.

Under the hood, the upcoming SU7 Ultra sports out a tri-motor configuration comprising dual V8s paired with one V6 for maximum drive force at 1547 horsepower, while its performance metrics are marked by stunning acceleration numbers such as to reach 0-1,000 meters in an astonishing 9.23 seconds, thus setting an anticipation that this model would be the fastest in its segment.

A critical component of what set this apart is the inclusion of high-speed features including rapid charging and a unique 'Racing Master' audio suite that uses enhanced signal processing techniques to allow users more intuitive commands. Furthermore, leveraging top-shelf components such as the XIAOMI hyperOS for computing power combined with 2-Orin intelligent driving system, all while setting up fast charging with capacities reaching 5200 watts.

Xiaomi is looking set on a successful entry in this highly competitive market with clear emphasis upon speed, efficiency and customization.
