QinL Pure Electric Version: What to Expect from BYD's Upcoming Mid-Size Vehicle
A series of spy photos obtained through various channels have given us an early look at the upcoming pure electric version of BYD's QinL mid-size vehicle. Initially, only the plug-in hybrid version is available for purchase, but the company is expected to bring in a more expensive pure electric model.
The QinL appears to be positioned as a mid-size sedan, taking cues from other models in BYD's lineup. Although details on the exact specifications of the pure electric version remain scarce, insiders hint that it will come with an estimated price hike compared to its plug-in hybrid counterpart.
Upon closer inspection, the spy shots reveal a sleek and aerodynamic exterior design. The model is expected to ditch the large black air intakes from its predecessor's version, replacing them with sealed-off front facades. A prominent grille system under the front hood is foreseen as an addition of pure electric variant, along with maintaining the headlight arrangement similar to plug-in hybrid.
Inside the cabin, the interior style and feel seem comparable to the existing plug-in hybrid model. However, there are key features that might differentiate it from its predecessor - including a digital driver's display monitor and improved infotainment options – such as wider touch screens.
One noteworthy feature is what appears to be the omission of typical cylinder components; making this solid evidence it truly is an all-electric drive system. Other than this, the design is largely conservative compared to what we've seen in other electric models before. It has sparked excitement about its prospects but leaves a great deal unsaid.
Additional specs for QinL Pure Electric have not yet been announced, and more is expected as the upcoming release approaches closer and closer.
