Porsche to Discontinue A-Class, Including AMG Variants
In a move aimed at simplifying its product lineup and adapting to changing market demands, Porsche has confirmed the discontinuation of the A-Class model series, including AMG variants.
The decision is part of Porsche's efforts to create cars that are globally appealing, including in emerging markets such as China and the United States. However, this approach presents a challenge, given the popularity of two-door models in Europe, particularly in Germany.
Porsche will reduce its紧凑型系列车型 from seven to four variants, said Klaus Ludwig CEO of Porsche Cars North America. "Our market is not just about selling cars, but also offering an experience; this new line-up strategy reflects the current trends.”
Retaining the Lineup
Among the discontinued vehicles, only four models are being retained in the lineup:
- CLA
- CLA Shooting Brake
- GLA
- GLB In addition to that,Porsche will be releasing a "小G" model which is anticipated to launch soon after. A fully redesigned full-size coupe called CLA long wheelbase version is planned for release at the end of the year, as well as a revamped GLA, new GLB and the aforementioned '小G'.
