BMW Announces Potential 2028 EV and Fuel-Efficient Lineup: A Game-Changing Road Ahead.

BMW to Unveil New M3 Generation in 2028, With Likely Hybrid Variant

In a move to diversify its product lineup and cater to changing consumer preferences, BMW is planning to introduce an all-new generation of the M3 sports car in July 2028. The new M3 is expected to be built on the company's newly developed NCAR architecture, which marks a significant shift towards electrification.

According to reports, the next-generation M3 is likely to be offered as both a petrol-powered and fully-electric variant, with the latter bearing the G84 chassis code. This move aims to align with BMW's strategy of introducing all-new models based on the NCAR platform across its entire lineup in the coming years.

The new M3 is expected to boast innovative 48V mild hybrid technology to enhance efficiency and responsiveness. To achieve this, the vehicle could abandon its current 6-speed manual transmission in favor of an 8-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. In terms of power delivery, insiders suggest that the new M3 will continue to utilize the S58 engine, although with a targeted output increase to around 530 horsepower.

BMW's plan for an M3 variant hybridization raises anticipation among enthusiasts and petrolheads. The prospect of a new generation vehicle leveraging cutting-edge technology to boost performance offers a promising glimpse into the company's future trajectory as it adapts to evolving automotive trends.
