Smart Drone System Announced by BYD: Empowering Adventure and Exploration

BYD has officially unveiled its "Lingyun" smart drone car load system, allowing users to control the drone remotely through its dedicated app or on their smartphone. This innovative technology not only makes travel experiences more exciting but also provides valuable insights in various applications such as outdoor exploration, traffic inspections, emergency response, and more.

The BYD Lingyun smart drone system has been made available in the market, with prices ranging from RMB 3958 to RMB 4238 (approximately USD 570 to USD 620).

Featured Vehicles

The top-of-the-line Qiang Long Q8 version and other six vehicles (including * Equation Q3 , BYD Tangl**, Equation Q5 , Equation Q9, BYD Haige07, and Tengshi N9) featuring the BYD Lingyun smart drone system will soon be released for public purchase.

Among them, The most prominent feature of Qiang Long Q8 is that it comes equipped with an in-built drone compartment located on its roof, which perfectly complements its rugged performance. This SUV can easily carry out off-road exploration and achieve the user's goal of viewing a more expansive landscape, thereby making the BYD Q8+ drone an attractive combination.

Comparing to 2022 Beijing Auto Show Products

Compared to the previously introduced 2022 Beijing Auto Show product, the Lingyun smart drone system can be seen as more compact while sacrificing some power saving features. However this comes at the cost of only allowing for the recharge of drones by installing the "Lingyun Fast Charging System". This system allows the autoonomic operation of drones when it is under 25km/h, enabling remote dynamic take-off and landing, full-spectrum obstacle avoidance, follow and capture functions, and one-click-generated panoramic views.

Future Developments

BYD has announced its intention to collaborate with multiple brands in incorporating the BYD Lingyun smart drone system into their future automobile models. These are expected to include Qian Long Pin3 , BYD Tangl**, Equation Q5 , Equation Q9, **BYD Haige07, and Tengshi N9.

Interior Design

The interior design of the Vehicle remains unchanged compared to other Qiang Long variants with respect its interior layout. The interior includes a combination of 12.3-inch, 17.3-inch, and 50-inch screens along with an air vent support display for better visibility.

In terms of seating capacity, both six-seat and seven-seat configurations will be available.

Seat configuration - Three Rows: It comes with advanced interior features supported by a combined DiLink system with AI, equipped on vehicle’s onboard computer. A further advancement is the car having the BYD 9000 CPU model while it also retains its AI-driven ambiance system & LED illumination (128 color options) along with being powered by the most effective audio output of 18 Emperor valve - imperial audio set - making an engaging five senses experience.

Advanced Driving Functions

The Qiang Long Q8+ drone version is equipped with Huawei's Qiánkun intelligence driving system V3.0, which allows "Car To Car" (also known as park assist), autonomous parking, drive-away-parking, and remote control of the vehicle.

This car also comes along side a 2.0 T motor that could be tuned to operate with a higher efficiency system by mixing gasoline with electricity.
