Chinese EV "Five Motors Li Guang" Revealed: Compact Design, Functional Space and Low-Price Options
The Five Motors Li Guang Electric Vehicle (EV) has made its public debut, showcasing a unique blend of functionality and practicality. Officially named the Li Guang EV, this compact car measures 3685mm in length, 1530mm in width, and 1765mm in height, with an overall length slightly shorter than those of the Gemto and Gekko models.
To achieve the desired spacious interior, the developers opted for a short front and rear overhang design, complete with sliding doors in the rear. This compact layout allows for easy maneuverability in tight urban spaces.
From its exterior, it's clear that this car is designed to be versatile – showcasing multiple configurations, including a basic '素车' (plain) version with minimal features. Notable examples include a retro-style wheel design and bold color options through customization kits.
Step inside the vehicle to discover an interior focused on minimalism. Keyless entry and start systems are notably absent from both trim versions, with hand-operated climate control units replacing mechanical buttons for simplicity's sake.
The Five Motors Li Guang adopts a four-seat arrangement, though seats feel relatively lightweight. The back seat features foldable headrests that allow the rear compartment to be cleared of luggage or any storage items - offering ample room within its space.
When it comes to acceleration performance, this car boasts an impressive electric motor with peak output 30kw and utilizing phosphorus iron lithium batteries for enhanced efficiency at a top speed of 100km/h.
