Geely Motors Unveils Exclusive Images of Upcoming EV2 Model

A batch of exclusive images has surfaced for Geely Motors' latest electric vehicle (EV) model, the EV2. The car is positioned as a pure electric small-bodied competitor to other models such as Mini Cooper Electric and Firefly.

According to insiders, the new automobile will still be based on the E-GMP platform and boast a 400V architecture. Production is scheduled for later this year, with exports tipped to cost around £23,000 (approximately RMB21,000). Details regarding its overseas pricing remain unchanged.

Key Features of Geely's EV2 Model

The prototype pictures show that the new car will retain a fairly heavy disguise but should still incorporate the distinctive design elements of Geely's Opposites United family style. The front facades feature lights with a similar "7" shape, which is easily recognizable.

Geely's side model showcases sleek A pillars, dual rearview mirrors and low-profile wheels that add an urban touch to its styling. Building on similar proportions as the upcoming EV3 model, Geely is also expected to retain this compact build for the EV2 at a length of 4,300mm and track width of 2,680mm.

Electric Power Delivery

With a power architecture boasting 400V, only single-electric machine versions are anticipated. At present, Geely's latest single electric vehicle has a top motor torque output of 204 horsepower based on its upcoming sister model EV3.

The battery capacity and range performance for the new car will be similar to its sister model's current specifications with three possible range options between 560km through the WLTP test cycles. For now, we will keep watchful eye as Geely further shares info regarding the latest EV2 car update.
