Biandan Automobile Industry Company Recalls Over 6,800 Units of Formula E Vehicles Due to Electrical Connection Issue
The Biandan Automobile Industry Company has filed a notice with the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to recall certain units of Formula E vehicles due to an electrical connection issue. The recall will begin on January 24, 2025.
Recall Batch and Date
Bianadan Automobile Industry Company will be recalling 6,843 units of Formula E plug-in hybrid electric vehicles produced between October 16, 2023, and February 1, 2024.
Reason for Recall
The recall is due to a production defect in the integration circuit of the double motors. In certain cases, the internal electrical connections are not tightened properly, which may lead to the connection point becoming loose or bent under normal use conditions. This can cause an engine malfunctioning, posing a safety risk.
Resolution and Notification
Bianadan Automobile Industry Company will authorize Shenzhen Binyue New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. to free of charge replace the integration circuit in all affected vehicles to eliminate the safety risks.
