Volkswagen Group to Recall 15,906 Taycan Electric Cars in China Over Potential Fire Risk

The Chinese subsidiary of Volkswagen Group, Volkswagen Group (China), Automobile Sales Co., Ltd., has filed a recall plan with the National Market Supervision Administration of China, pursuant to the Regulations on the management of defective motor vehicles and the Implementing Regulations thereon.

These cars are affected by a potential fire risk in the high-pressure electric battery module, which could lead to a loss of control when exposed to heat, if not properly addressed.

Vehicle owners who are scheduled for retrieval will be advised to use an approved charger with a maximum output power of 10.45 kW. The deadline is November 30th, 2024
