Chinese AI-Powered Autonomous Vehicle Technology Opens National Testing, Nationwide Coverage
According to official announcements, Chinese L7 has officially started the nationwide public test of NoA (CityNOA) without visual inputs. The testing encompasses the entire nation, focusing on only those L7 vehicles equipped with upgraded Lidar technology.
The sign-up for this testing campaign is open from 14:00 November 18th to November 20th at 24:00. Additional information for registration purposes have been below:
CityNOA functionality starts when a user inputs their destination and clicks 'Navigate' in the navigation settings on their vehicle's device. In that case, the L7 vehicle is able to utilize its built-in route planning based on an underlying map to drive smoothly down designated paths while maintaining lanes, recognizing red-and-green lights, navigating intersections, avoiding complex traffic scenarios by steering around or slowing down, and implementing intelligent speed control.
Using cutting-edge visual perception technology combined with data-driven processing methods, CityNOA can successfully identify features of roads including road signs as well as traffic signals without relying on high precision maps. It is compatible with urban main roads, secondary highways, rural roads, mountainous roads & scenic areas.
