New Energy Vehicle Spotted: Several Chinese Models Revealed Ahead of Commercial Release
A Range of Electric SUVs Caught on Camera
Several Chinese electric vehicle (EV) models have been spotted testing in recent weeks, providing initial insight into the market offerings ahead of their commercial release. Among these, one model is believed to be a fusion between several notable brands - the latest move by China's largest automotive manufacturer, SAIC Motor.
Interior and Exterior Insights
The interior design seems to be inspired by Chinese players such as MG ES5, while offering some unique features. The dashboard sports a large floating display screen with a high-res display and dual-digit gauges that resemble those of MG ES5. The steering wheel's shape also bears resemblance to the MG ES5 model.
However, there are notable differences, particularly in terms of central console depth - significantly larger compared to its counterpart from MG ES5. Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that seating has been upgraded with a leather-trimmed upholstery design and large outflow vents.
Exterior Features Reveal Potential Brand Affiliation
Meanwhile, exterior features show potential brand affiliations by revealing similarities in design elements between the model and an upcoming variant of the Rivian R7 electric vehicle. The headlights exhibit similar characteristics from Rivian RS, a possible predecessor to the production version of R7, however there is little clarification about this at present.
A distinctive aspect that differentiates it most prominently can be seen through its rearview lens: these elements conform closer with previous model variants and might have some formative ties for an upcoming brand iteration - namely from Rivian RC5.
