StarTimes Starium ET-XS: A New Chapter in Chinese EV Market
Beijing, 15 December 2023 - In a move that is expected to shake up the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) market, StarTimes has announced the release of its latest model, the StarTimes Starium ET-XS. The four-wheel drive variant of the ET-XS is set to hit the market on December 15th.
Positioned as a mid-size SUV, the ET-XS had already begun pre-orders before its official announcement. The vehicle's price tag ranges from 2,498 yuan to 2,990 yuan (approximately $350-$415 USD), with an impressive combined range of over 1,500 kilometers on a single charge.
This news comes as StarTimes takes steps to enhance the exterior and interior design of its new model. The ET-XS is expected to feature several new color options for both outside and inside the vehicle, ensuring users can personalize their StarTimes experience. Moreover, an updated wheel design with 20-inch multi-spoke rims will be equipped, offering a distinct look that sets this Starium apart from other competitors.
In terms of comfort and convenience, the ET-XS will boast new upgrades on its interior seats, supplemented by smart features such as automatic sunshade curtains, electric handbag racks, and perhaps more excitingly still an entertainment package known as StarTimes' "star dynamic room."
When it comes to performance, one thing is clear - the ET-XS has power where others do not. Built on the foundation of a 1.5T boost engine with a maximum output of up to 156 horsepower in single motor drive mode; when paired with its dual electric motors powered setup, the 4x4 system sees an impressive 469 horsepower. The fastest accelerating version can reach speeds from zero to 100km within a mere 4.8 seconds.
Furthermore, according to WLTC (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure) standards, there is a remarkable fuel consumption rate of only 5.9L/100km and an equally impressive extended range on ECO-Cycling mode, totaling over 240 kilometers in charge-only capability.
