BYD to Launch Fifth-Generation DM Technology in the Binyue 06 Travel Package
On March 19, a new addition to the latest directory from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MII) has revealed the upcoming BYD Binyue 06 travel package DM-i car model. The vehicle is expected to adopt the latest fifth-generation DM technology (CLTC), drawing inspiration from the existing Binyue 06 DM-i model. Potential buyers can choose from an 80km or 120km electric range.
The exterior design has been adjusted while maintaining the current body structure, with refinements made in subtle details. The car features a closed front grille that blends seamlessly with the hexagonal LED light group on both sides of its frame. Its most distinctive feature is without doubt its robust rear end, which boasts a more angular look instead of rapidly dropping down under B-pillar like with regular sedan versions, thus offering greater space in the boot area and anticipation of better headroom for second row passengers as well.
The car's size stands at 4850mm in length, 1890mm in width, and an overall height of 1505mm. Its wheelbase is set to 2790mm. Powered by a 1.5L engine combined with electric motors from BYD Auto Company Limited (BYD472QC), the mixed-drive system promises high performance.
According modifications expected around later months, further details may uncover regarding those updates on how that will impact all-in driving features, costs savings possibly as a feature upgrade from its conventional gasoline only counterpart.
